David P. Graham has composed a new work "Six Gilda Melodies" for violoncello and accordion. The work is dedicated to Heidi Luosujärvi and Philip Graham and they will premiere it on the 25th of August in Annweiler, Germany. The concert will be repeated in Oberwesel on the 26th of August. The live recording from "Akkordeonherbst 2017"-festival in Gelsenkirchen has been released. Philip Graham (violoncello) and Heidi Luosujärvi presented a duo program in their concert from which there are two tracks on the CD, including "Ritual V" for violoncello and accordion by David P. Graham. The work was written for this duo and it was premiered in 2013. The CD is available on www.akkordeonherbst.de

Composer Franz Ferdinand August Rieks has composed a new work "LiberEighteenitial" for two accordions. The young German composer was awarded with the "Wolfgang-Rihm-Stipendium", a grant by the Hoepfner-Stiftung, in 2017. The work is commissioned by the Hoepfner-Stiftung and is dedicated to Heidi Luosujärvi and Petteri Waris.
The first performance takes place on the 14th of July in Karlsruhe.

Composer James Ogburn was awarded the 3rd prize in American Prize in Composition, Orchestra Category with his concerto for accordion and orchestra.
